About The Opportunity
Co-Opts is looking for a computer Science student who wishes to be exposed to the large scale data engineering and the Devops required to do this. The role will involve taking responsibility for some day to day tasks, proposing automations and getting to know AWS in depth. You will be helping to build our data and machine learning pipeline for our voice products. Should you wish you will also have the opportunity to rebuild our website using the latest severless techniques. Our company is focused on building voice solutions for mental health clinicians.

Co-Opts is building the first set of digital tools to help mental health therapists be more productive and to treat more patients less stressfully and with better outcomes. A key attribute to a successful product in this area is co-design with clinicians and patients. We are looking to build this aspect of our collaboration.

I've built/architected 2 very large scale realtime software systems; one whose architecture still runs a substantial part of the global online lottery gaming industry 25 years on; the first true global application for two major investment banks. I ran an early hedge fund focusing on arbitrage. I've been chairman of a startup which built the first J2EE banking back office and which is now Misys's principal retail banking product line. I built the first business doing independent price verification for derivatives, it was sold to Markit. I've started businesses building supercomputers and then Big Data consultancy but I was too early. Fun fact, some of my code has run for more than 30 years.
Now I've cofounded Co-Opts which is focused on helping Mental Health therapists to improve the efficacy and outcomes for patients by building the first digital tools for therapists.
I'm driven by curiosity about the situations I find myself in and the people around me and why they are the way they are. I love building teams of people to do extraordinary things and love changing things to improve outcomes.
